Issue: Today i cam across a issue where in the user had some Excel files embedded in a word Document .
Applied Version: Sharepoint 2007, Office 2007
Troubleshooting:
- We tried doing a Repair of office.
- We also tried checking the proxy it did not help.
- Added the Sharepoint site to the trusted sites still the issue exists.
- So we did some more Research and found a option that worked for us.
- If we download the Word file and then try to open the excel doc we are able to .
Resolution:
Right-clicking on the Excel objects.Applied Version: Sharepoint 2007, Office 2007

Resolution:
2. Click Worksheet Object -> Convert.
3. Choose Microsoft Office Excel Binary Worksheet
4. Click OK
After it converts it to a Binary worksheet, you can then repeat the process
and choose Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet.
