I
got a request from the client to move the wiki library from one site collection
from another site collection.
Suggestions: I
suggested the following things:
Can map library as network drive
and copy over the documents.
Can save site as template
and create a new library using the template by uploading it the template gallery
on destination site.
Problem: However, I was amazed to know that ‘Save site Template’ option
was depreciated from the Wiki Libraries in SharePoint 2010.
Resolution: This
behavior is by default; however we have a workaround for this. Go to the
"Document Library Settings" page.
You should see the URL address like this
".../listedit.aspx?List={GUID}", change the "listedit" to
"savetmpl" and the URL look like this
"../savetmpl.aspx?List={GUID}", now you will be able to save the
library as a template.
This method is not
recommended, but it works. If you have any workflow bound to the library then
you may have some issues, but works fine if you just want to create a template
for document settings, Columns and views.
If you have any
queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me
know.
I would be more than happy
to help you as well as resolves your issues, thank you.
Applies
to:
SharePoint Foundation Server 2010, SharePoint 2010.
